7月4日，上海合作组织成员国元首理事会第二十四次会议将在哈萨克斯坦阿斯塔纳举行。上合组织农业基地作为上合组织农业领域首个共商共建共享平台，承担着服务上合组织国家地区间农业协同发展的使命。5年来，上合组织农业基地建设按照“互信、互利、平等、协商、尊重多样文明、谋求联合发展”的“上海精神”，立足上合组织国家农业资源禀赋、经济社会发展基础和未来农业发展方向，基地建设实现了从“中国倡议”到“重大共享平台”、从“愿景规划”到“现实成果”的突破性进展。
7月2日，中国国际电视台以《中国—中亚合作：中国陕西与上海合作组织成员国农业合作》为题，深入报道了上合组织农业基地与上合组织成员国“交流互鉴，合作共赢”的好故事、好声音。
Shaanxi Province in Northwest China is widely known for its agriculture industry. The province is cooperating with member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Iran in areas such as fruit and wheat production. Zheng Songwu reports from Shaanxi's Yangling.
The demonstration base for agricultural technology exchange and training of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was established in 2020 in Shaanxi's Yangling. It uses big data, artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies to promote modern agriculture development in arid and semi-arid areas.
ZHENG SONGWU Yangling, Shaanxi Province, Northwest China "This is a demonstration base in Yangling for dragon fruit plantations, and agriculture experts from SCO member countries like Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan visit every year to exchange ideas about plantation techniques and irrigation systems."
Wang Yan is the manager of the base. She planted dragon fruit in Hainan Province in south China and in 2008, she returned to her hometown Yangling to develop the same industry. As the first individual to plant dragon fruit in Yangling, she failed to harvest because of the temperature and humidity difference. There was no-one in Yangling with the expertise to help at that time, but Wang Yan kept exploring and experimenting, and she succeeded in 2015.

They visit our base every month, exchanging ideas about facilities use, greenhouse construction, irrigation systems, plantation skills and variety breeding."
Northwest Sci-Tech University of Agriculture and Forestry is one of the top universities in China. Professor Zhang Zhengmao is a senior wheat plantation expert. He and his team have been working on hybrid wheat development in Kazakhstan since 2017.
Professor Zhang says generally, the higher the latitude, the lower the height of wheat. So they've been experimenting with taller Chinese wheat varieties both in Yangling and northwest China's Xinjiang, which has a similar climate to Kazakhstan.
ZHANG ZHENGMAO Retired Professor, Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University "The agronomic traits, yield traits and disease-resistance traits of local Chinese wheat are good, but the Kazakh wheat is better quality. So we are doing experiments in both countries to produce hybrid wheat that has the best traits of both types of wheat."
Kazakhstan has fertile land, but the unit yield was previously low. Since the cooperation of experts from both countries began, yields have increased by as much as 60%.
As the first national agricultural high-tech industrial demonstration zone in China, Last year, more than 700 agricultural experts from 40 countries including SCO member countries were trained here. Local officials say cooperation between China and Central Asia in agriculture and other industries will never end.

西北农林科技大学是全国重点大学之一。张正茂教授是资深小麦种植专家。他和他的团队自2017年以来一直致力于哈萨克斯坦的杂交小麦开发。
张教授说，一般来说，纬度越高，小麦的高度就越低。因此，他们一直在杨凌和中国西北的新疆（气候与哈萨克斯坦相似）试验较高的中国小麦品种。
西北农林科技大学退休教授张正茂说：“中国本地小麦的农艺性状、产量性状和抗病性状均较好，哈萨克斯坦小麦的品质较好。因此，我们正在这两个国家进行试验，以生产具有两种小麦最佳特性的杂交小麦。”
哈萨克斯坦拥有肥沃的土地，但以前的单产很低。自两国专家开始合作以来，产量提高了60%之多。
